The Spectrum Show - Format Change

From episode 150, the format of the show will be changing. This is mainly due to time constraints and the amount of time it takes to produce a 30 minute, multipart show each month. I have been releasing shows on a monthly basis for 13 years, and the time has come to make a change to avoid burn-out and at times, near exhaustion.

I worked out that, on average, I have about 8 hours per week of free time. Sometimes there is more, other times less.. so again, on average let’s say 30 hours per month. That time has to be used for many things in life such as  friends, family, holidays, trips, reading, watching TV, being an active member of a local theatre and other hobbies, and of course the show. Not to mention the Crash Live shows!

All of this means rushing to get the show down every month, as I have done for the last 13 years. This is unmanageable.

The new format of the show will be more fluid and driven by the content rather than having to fill 30 minutes each time. Episode lengths will vary from 15 minutes to 45 minutes, maybe longer. It all depends on the content and the time available.

The show will not stop.

I have plans for the next 20+ episodes (at the time of writing this) taking us up to episode 174 - which would be 2027. More ideas and episodes will be added as time moves on, but I certainly have enough content for the next 20+.

Episode contents will still remain a mix of the usual things such as hardware reviews (old and new), games, interviews, chat and type-ins. Just not all in 30 minutes episodes. For example, a typical episode may have a hardware review, one game review and a type-in, and last about 20 minutes.

I hope you understand, and thanks for your continued support.
